Bar chart of monthly organic clicks from the pages produced for Comptoir de l'utilitaire, rising from 1,924 in March 2026 to 13,164 in July 2026, with August shown as a partial month

News : Google rolled out AI Overviews and AI Mode in France on 22 July 2026, following an agreement with French press publishers over neighbouring rights, with full coverage of eligible queries announced for 23 September 2026 (Abondance, July 2026).

A case study is only worth reading if the figures can be checked and the method is stated. Here is what we produced for Comptoir de l'utilitaire between March and August 2026, what it returned in organic traffic measured in Google Search Console, and above all how that traffic is counted : because that is where most of the flattering numbers in this industry come from.

The starting point

Comptoir de l'utilitaire sells fit-outs and accessories for commercial vans. Its market searches in very concrete terms: the interior dimensions of a Ford Transit Custom, the gross weight rating of a Renault Master, the recurring faults on a Berlingo. These are queries from tradespeople who know exactly what they are looking for.

The site had a solid catalogue and an existing audience. What it lacked were the pages that answer those questions : the ones a buyer reads before choosing a model, and the ones a search engine, classic or generative, can lean on when it needs a source to cite.

What was produced

Between 4 March and 24 August 2026, 394 pages were published: model-by-model spec sheets, towbar compatibility guides, common faults, buying guides and seasonal content. Each page is written for an identified search intent, not to fill a calendar.

358 of those 394 pages are indexed by Google, or 91%. The rest are still being crawled or were dropped by Google : we track that rate page by page through the Search Console URL Inspection API, because an unindexed page returns nothing however good it is.

The measured results

Across the period, these pages generated 41,753 organic clicks and 1,561,414 impressions. The growth is steady, with no plateau:

MonthOrganic clicksImpressions
March 20261,92474,385
April 20263,462141,544
May 20265,214194,589
June 20269,782322,259
July 202613,164428,021
August 2026 (24 of 31 days)8,207400,616

August is incomplete: the data stops on the 24th, and Search Console always runs two days behind. We leave it visible rather than hide it, but it should not be read as a decline : August impressions already exceed July's.

The pages carrying the traffic

The distribution is what you want from foundational work: a few strong pages, and a long tail that makes the volume.

  • Ford Transit Custom 2026 spec sheet : 4,077 clicks
  • Peugeot Expert 2026 spec sheet : 2,012 clicks
  • Peugeot Partner spec sheet : 1,433 clicks
  • Common faults on the Citroën Berlingo : 1,403 clicks
  • Common faults on the Ford Transit Custom : 1,271 clicks
  • Renault Master spec sheet : 1,008 clicks

Those six pages are under 2% of the volume produced and a little over a quarter of the clicks. The other 267 pages receiving traffic bring the rest : which is exactly the point: an asset that does not depend on a single hit page.

The method

Three steps, always the same: a GEO audit that identifies the industry queries where the brand does not appear, a steady editorial output aimed at those queries, and automated semantic interlinking so that no page is left orphaned.

Agency-quality work, software-grade productivity: 394 pages in six months are not produced by hand, and a page written by a machine with no editorial direction does not get cited. It is the combination that produces this result.

How this number is calculated

This is the part most case studies leave out, and it is the part that decides whether the number means anything.

Traffic is counted only from each page's own publication date. A page put live on 12 June is credited with no click earlier than 12 June. Without that rule, a produced page that replaces an older, already-visited address inherits its entire history : and the figure on display becomes a multiple of the real one. We hit that bias on another account: it inflated the reported traffic by 76%.

Three further precautions: duplicate URLs are de-duplicated before any total, only pages we actually produced are counted (never the client's pre-existing pages) and the single source is Google Search Console, not a third-party tool that estimates.

What the client says

“Alexis at Cicero did an incredible job in very little time. In the space of 2 months we have already increased our qualified organic traffic by 6,000 monthly visits, and it keeps going. I am blown away.”

And for your site?

The first step is always the same: find the queries in your industry where your customers are looking for you and someone else's name comes up, on Google and in AI-generated answers. That is what the audit does, and it costs nothing.
